The story of Quellmed Skincare – skin care from an unexpected discovery
Quellmed Skincare isn't just a skincare brand—it's the story of an unexpected discovery and a personal journey. Our roots lie in the long-established family business Wöltjen, which has specialized in environmental technology and well construction for decades. During the renovation of the Nienburg Baths in 2013, our drilling company team accidentally stumbled upon a spring of healing water. At first, we didn't know what exactly was so special about this water—it was simply another spring water.
Only after closer analysis did we discover that this water contains an extraordinary composition of 21 minerals, some of them rare—and these minerals have a remarkable effect on the skin. Following this discovery, Quellmed Skincare was founded to harness the power of this extraordinary healing water for skincare.
The effect of water was particularly noticeable for me: During my time in aviation, which lasted from 2011 to 2021, I was often exposed to the extremely dry conditions on airplanes, which took a toll on my skin. Dry skin and redness were commonplace, and I sometimes reacted violently to many of the chemical skincare products I tried. My skin reacted with irritation and intolerance, which made it difficult to find a suitable solution.
When the healing water was discovered, my father asked me to try it. At first, I was skeptical—I thought it was just salt water. But after a few uses, I noticed a significant improvement. The water soothed my skin, regenerated it, and helped restore its natural balance.
What surprised me most was the feedback I received from my friends. More and more people reported positive changes – and gradually I realized that I wasn't the only one experiencing this. The water actually had the potential to help people with sensitive skin or skin irritations.
This is how the idea of redesigning Quellmed Skincare was born: I wanted to further develop the products based on this exceptional healing water and take the brand to a new level. Since joining in 2025, I have taken over the company to bring fresh ideas and new impulses. My goal is to redesign the products, expand the product range, and modernize Quellmed Skincare to meet people's current needs.
I'm always happy to receive feedback from our customers. Their opinions are very important to me because they help us continuously improve our products and adapt them to people's needs. It's a personal concern of mine not only to listen to studies and market analyses, but also to hear directly from people about what they want and how we can improve. We want Quellmed Skincare to be there for everyone and to truly make a difference.
